Robben: Van Gaal says there's always room for me at Manchester United

Robben: Van Gaal says there's always room for me at Manchester UnitedThe Netherlands star reveals that his coach would welcome him at Old Trafford but insists that he is happy at Bayern Munich and has no intention of leaving this summer

Arjen Robben says coach Louis van Gaal has told him that "there's always room" for him at Manchester United.

The winger, who was one of the stars of the World Cup as

he helped his country to third place in the tournament, insists he is happy at Bayern Munich, however, and has no intention of joining his departing national boss at Old Trafford this summer.

Asked by NOS if he could join United this summer, Robben replied: "No - that's what I told Van Gaal. I am happy at Bayern but he's said there is always room for me [at United].

"Van Gaal is the best coach I've had. We've got a very special relationship.

"After the match he did ask me to come to Manchester, but I will not move. I'm at the right place at Bayern so that has nothing to do with Van Gaal or United."

Robben played a key role for Netherlands under Van Gaal as they exceeded expectations in Brazil, scoring three goals and making one assist as he played his way onto the shortlist for Fifa's Golden Ball.

Since leaving Chelsea in 2007, the winger has had success at both Real Madrid and Bayern, winning the Champions League with the German club in 2013.
